Class Descriptions
We offer a variety of classes for all different ages. Placements are based on the skills listed below.
Mom, Dad & Me
A parent-and-child interactive class where toddlers are introduced to the world of tumbling with the support of a familiar face in the gym with them.
Skills learned: behavioral skills like waiting in line, taking turns, sharing, and following instructions. Basic gymnastics shapes and positions.
Skill examples: log rolls, forward rolls, backward rolls on wedge, intro to cartwheels, straight/tuck/straddle jumps on TumblTrak.
Tiny Tots
Focused on developing fundamental motor and stability skills — hand-eye coordination, core and upper/lower body strength, and overall flexibility.
Skill examples: straight, tuck and lateral jumps, forward/backward rolls, log rolls, seat roll, intro to cartwheel, bounding and rebounding on soft surfaces.
Beginners
For children new to tumbling or with limited skills. No experience necessary.
Skill examples: forward and backward roll, intro to cartwheel, bridge, straight/tuck/lateral jumps.
Ages 10+ Tumbling
For children ages 10 and up interested in learning how to tumble. No experience necessary.
Intermediate
Prerequisites: a forward roll, a backward roll down an incline, a handstand against the wall, a good leg cartwheel, and a strong bridge.
Skill examples: "L" stand handstand, forward and backward roll, opposite cartwheel, back bend to bridge on wedge, intro to kicking over off panel mat.
Walkovers & More
Prerequisites: right and left cartwheel, kickover off panel mat, and an arch back on incline.
Skill examples: 1-arm cartwheels, arch back on floor, handstand forward rolls, kickovers, back walkover, front walkover, back extension roll.
Back Handsprings
Prerequisites: a strong front walkover, back walkover and roundoff.
In this class: back handsprings, roundoff back handsprings, multiple back handsprings on TumblTrak and down the incline, handstand snap down back handsprings. Athletes also begin flysprings, front handsprings and front walkover roundoffs.
Multiple Back Handsprings
Prerequisites: a strong roundoff back handspring on the floor and a standing 2 back handsprings down the incline and TumblTrak.
In this class: roundoff multiple back handsprings, standing multiple back handsprings on TumblTrak and down the incline, back walkover back handsprings, back handspring step-outs, flysprings, front handsprings and aerials.
Tucks
Prerequisites: a good standing 5 back handsprings and a good round off 5 back handsprings, all with a good block, feet together and legs straight.
In this class: review of existing skills plus standing tucks, round off back tucks, 2 back handsprings to tuck, and front tucks.
Layout / Twist
Prerequisites: a standing tuck off the panel mat, front tuck on springboard, 2 back handsprings to tuck, and a round off back handspring tuck.
In this class: review of existing skills plus round off back handspring layouts and fulls.
Fulls & Beyond
For athletes with strong layouts and standing tucks on the floor. In this class they'll learn to twist, work specialty passes through to fulls, jump-tucks, and standing fulls.
Social Contact
